Namibia gilt als das „Einsteiger Land“ für Afrika Novizen. Die Landschaften im Süden Namibias, die Namib Desert, Swakopmund, mit noch immer von der deutschen Kolonialzeit geprägtem Charakter, sind etablierte Ziele für Touristen.

Der Etoscha National Park ist zwar sehr gut organisiert, hält aber immer wieder Überraschungen für den engagierten Fotografen parat.

Eine Reise entlang der Grenze zu Angola ins Kaokoveld am Kunene im Norden Namibias kann zum echten Abenteuer werden. Dort, in der Umgebung der Epupa Falls und des berüchtigten Van Zyl’s Pass fotografierten wir Portraits der noch traditionell lebenden Ovahimba.

Auf dem Weg zum wenig besuchten Khaudum National Park trifft man noch traditionell lebende San oder Buschleute in kleinen abgelegenen Ansiedlungen.

Auch der Mudumu und der Mamili National Park in der Sambesi Region lohnen einen Besuch.

Namibia has a reputation for being the best destination for novices to Africa.

The landscapes in the south of the country like the Namib Desert and Swakopmund with the charm of a small German colonial town, are well established places for tourists.

The well organized Etosha National Park always holds some surprises even for very ambitious wildlife photographers.

A journey along the Kunene River at the border to Angola in the Kaokoveld can be a real adventure. At the Epupa Falls and around the infamous Van Zyl’s Pass we photographed portraits of people of the Ovahimba tribe, which still lead a traditional life as nomadic pastoralists.

On the road to the little visited Khaudum National Park we met with the San or “bushmen” living a simple life in some very remote small settlements.

Also the Mudumu and Mamili National Parks in the Sambesi region, formerly known as Caprivi Strip, are worth a visit.
